My 7th Grade Reflection

5/28/13
                      My Reflection of 7th Grade

During my 7th grade year it was a fun experience to be in a bigger school and almost be prepared for high school. The friends that I had during 7th that I could talk and tell them something I knew I could trust them with  were Cristina, Cassie, Nikki, Renee, Ally, Callie. While  I was in 7th grade the music that everyone knew by Gangnam Style, and Gentleman by PSY. The fun things I learned this year was in math class we made bottle rocks that we launched and my groups rocket went really high. When we were building our rocket my friend Kayla and I wanted our rocket to look perfect, but at the end it didn't end up looking how we wanted it to look. Lastly I brought a cereal box of coco puffs and on the boxes there was a boy on the box and she decided to cut him out and tape him to the box and she named him Space Monkey, but we accidentally put him upside down so he was going to be upside down while we launched him. Math during 7th grade was my favorite subject, because sometimes it depends what kind of teacher you have to make school fun and my math teacher was Mrs. Lafree, and my Language Arts teacher was Mrs. Neidlinger, my Social Studies was Mrs. Stec, and my science teacher was Mr. Read. The things that I learned and probably won't forget and will come handy when I'm older was I learned how to sew. I sewed a locker organizer, and a pair of shorts. The thing I still remember was while sewing I poked myself with the needle sometimes and it hurt a bit. Even though I'm going to still go to the same school next year I'm going to miss my teachers, because they were pretty fun to be with and learn all kinds of new things. At least I can see my teachers every now and then by going to their class and say hello, but my science teacher won't be here next year, because he is retiring. In social studies I have learned a bunch about Africa, China, Japan, The Koreas,  and WW2 and I was surprised that on my final I was able to pass it. In social studies it was fun, because my teacher played review games a lot and made review activities right before the tests  so it helped to learn.

Favorites

My most favorite thing to do is I like to go outside. I enjoy going outside in my neighborhood and going outside with my friends and my cousins that in my neighborhood. In my neighborhood there is sort a park, but it doesn't have much there's only swings, monkey bars, and things to climb on, so the park isn't real exciting. If I don't want to go to the park I go to my cousin's house and play outside of their house, because sometimes she can't go to the park. When I go outside and my cousins aren't home, or my friend is at soccer practice I ride my bike around. I really enjoy that my cousins live in the same neighborhood as me, because then I won't have to be alone when my friends aren't home so then I can play with my three cousins.

My next favorite thing to do is I enjoy playing games on my Ipod Touch and on the computer when I'm bored at home. The games I enjoy the most on my Ipod is Subway Surfer where you have avoid trains from hitting you and collect as many coins you can with getting hit by a train and it is very addictive and if you know what Temple Run is Subway Surfer is almost the same. On the computer I enjoy going to a game website called Cool Math Games. Some of my favorite games on cool math is Red Ball 4, Bloxorz, and Snail Bob 2.  To me playing games is really fun and when I play games I like to listen to music and it makes playing games a whole lot better. What is your favorite game, and/or game website?

I also enjoy watching soccer. My favorite team in soccer is Mexico. In fact one of the team members on the team is one that I would like to meet someday and I wrote that back in Challenge 1.  When I watch soccer I sometimes get mad if the other team starts winning by 2 points, but then I get over it. I love watching soccer, but I'm not very good at playing in a team. If I play on a team I'm not very good at kicking the ball, because then I kick it too far ahead of myself. Also if someone passes the ball to me I try and make a goal, but people would take the ball away from me. I also just like to play for fun, because I'm not as competitive as I was when I was younger.

Digital Footprints
 What is Digital Citizenship?

Digital citizenship is basically how you act on the internet. In the internet there are lots of people that are creepy and are looking to hurt someone physically, mentally, or emotional. There are lots of things that you shouldn't do when you are on the internet. For example if you are messaging someone you just met or you don't know in real life you shouldn't tell them your address, phone number, or you real name, because there are people that know tons of things about computers and they can find you and hurt you. Also there are people that make up stuff about other people which is called cyber bullying and they can put those lies on social websites and what you can do is delete your account and right away tell an adult such as a teacher, or parent. Things you could do to not have people wanting to know your personal information is if someone you just met asks you a suspicious question you should ignore them and don't talk to them at all, or if you have some personal information the the public can see you could change the setting to where only your friends can see or just delete all the information about you including photos of you. That's some advise and some information about digital citizenship. The main point I'm saying is don't put your personal information out in the world and don't tell anyone, don't say things that are not true about other people, because think how they would feel and think how you would feel if someone did the same to you back. (Also known as the Golden Rule)

Get Creative

I have just finished washing my clothes and found one sock that is now full of holes. I can’t use it as a sock, but list 10 other ways I could use the sock.

1. Depending on the holes you could make a sock puppet and you can have some fun.
2.You could put somethings that you don't want to loose there if it doesn't fall out of the hole.
3. You can cut out more holes in certain places and you can make yourself a pair of gloves.
4. Instead of throwing away the sock you could use it to clean.
5. If your glass is too hot you can put it around the handle and you won't get burned by the glass.
6. You could make a flash light holder.
7. You could use it as a secret storage for your items that are important to you and don't want anyone touching it.
8.You can make some sock monkeys.
9.You could just use it to hit someone with your sock for fun.
10.You could tear it up and use it to fix other things that are ripped such as other socks.

Freedom of Choice
Week 3/11-3/16

For my week of freedom I would like to to talk about how I would like to visit  Los Angeles in California. There are lots of reasons why I would like to visit California one of the reasons are, because it would be awesome to live somewhere where it is always sunny and warm and don't have to worry about it being cold and walking through snow and freezing cold. Also I enjoy going outside and riding bikes being with my family outside and active plus I really enjoy going to the beach in the summer and if I was to go to California I would go to the beach everyday. Also if I was to go to California I would enjoy to go to Hollywood and see all of the stars on the walk and see all of the famous people's names. Also it would be awesome while I was at Hollywood if I saw a celebrity while I was in California. That's what my week of freedom would be like and that is what I wanted to talk about this week.
